Critically acclaimed British actor Bill Nighy is the latest celeb to get behind Sir Bobby Robson’s breakthrough online charity auction aiming to raise £1milion for cancer services.
One lucky fan and their guest will be whisked away to lunch at a restaurant in central Londonby the legendary actor known for his many brilliant performances in Love actually, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter. Bill joins an impressive list of celebrities, sporting stars and leading businesses who have donated to Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough including Amanda Holden, Lorraine Kelly, David Walliams, Piers Morgan and football managers Andre Villas-Boas and Jose Mourinho.
The online auction is aiming to raise an ambitious £1million in memory of football legend, Sir Bobby Robson. With only one day to go, organisers are urging people across the country to consider donating an auction item, however big or small. The auction currently has over 200 prizes but needs at least the same again in order to reach the £1million target.
Running from 10 – 27 October, Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough will raise crucial funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and cancer services within two Suffolk Hospitals.
Proudly backed by headline supporter BT Sport, Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough auction items for 2013 include a VIP trip to next year’s F1 in Monaco by private ‘Eclipse’ jet, incredible sporting art from Ben Mosley, a week sailing on a luxury catamaran ‘Akasha’, the opportunity to have a team play a six-a-side tournament at St. George’s Park in 2014 and a week-long stay at The Brewers House in Southwold.
