On DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray 27/2/12 (12) 4 Stars
Parent View:
The Three Musketeers in 3D is a Re-Imagining of the classic tale and great fun. There are two minor uses of bad language within the movie – but these are likely to go over the heads of young minds. Personally I think the 12 rating is a little over cautious by the BBFC – I’m very happy for both Hag (6) and Con (4) to watch this film (12A at the cinema). The violence is ‘Camp style’ swashbuckling and apart from a few ‘Head butts'(Now downgraded from a 12A to a PG in movies) Kidz under 12 see this type of action on TV every day. Overall this is a well presented update to the Musketeer story and will make for a great family Boxing day movie for many years to come.
3D Blu-Ray review:
Very impressive 3D Blu-Ray. Some great 3D moments with plenty of swords coming out of the screen, causing Hag to flinch regularly (very funny to watch). Stand out 3D moments: Its really hard to pick any particular moment as its so jam packed with 3D SFX. I loved seeing the back drop of ‘Versailles’ in 3D and all the sword fights are spectacular in 3D
