This isn’t an obvious film for Kidzcoolit to review – but I truly believe Kidz aged 9 years and up will be interested in learning about Lady Thatchers legacy. To quote Bill and Ted on the historical teachings of Napoleon – ” He was a short dead dude”, and that tends to be the norm for most important historical characters taught in schools – they’re all Dead. Lady Thatcher is very much alive and kicking and in my opinion the most significant female character since Elizabeth I. I think Kidz would really enjoy talking about someone who’s still alive for once.

The Iron Lady isn’t as intense as you would expect from a film of this type, comes with an enormous amount of humour and acts as a great montage of Thatchers achievements. I would highly recommend that schools consider taking classes on excursion to see this movie – then return to the class to extend the learning.

As a piece of pure entertainment – this is a brilliant film on every level. If you’re the type of person that regularly cries at films – take a box of tissues. I watched pretty much the whole film with tears in my eyes.

The Iron Lady is a 12A rating although I would have had no problem taking 7 year old Hag. My reason for not taking him – he’ll enjoy the experience so much more at 9 years old.
