Arthur – What were your favourite shows growing up?
Benjamin Bocquelet – I grew up in France and watched loads of anime. I was particularly fond of anything with giant robots in it. But! The cartoon that had the most lasting influence on him was the Simpsons.
I was still a kid when it was on TV and loved how it blended family based sitcom, action and adventure.
The Amazing World of Gumball is inspired by the Simpsons and is his attempt at creating his own animated sitcom.
Did you know it takes Ben and his team 6 months to produce one episode? The whole production is based in Old street, London and the Voice Over work is done in LA, USA.
