In Cinemas 25/4/13 (12A) Hag 5 Stars/ Con “Ironman 30-100” out of 5

Parent View: TBC
In hindsight I might have waited to show 6 year old Con this film when it arrived on 3D Blu-ray so I could skip certain parts, as there are a few moments in the film I felt a bit uncomfortable showing him. It all actually went over his head – but I felt a bit like a bad parent.

I completely agree with the 12A rating and I like that I have the choice to take 8 year Hag to see the movie as he’s mentally much older than his age. My problem is this has the same rating as Avengers Assemble – a film many under 12’s have seen and Ironman 3 is a much darker and far more serious film. I still think Avengers should have been PG, especially now as it would show parents the difference in content between the two movies just by seeing an advert with the rating. Not all parents spend time researching what they show their Kidz.

Aside from that – this is and incredible film and up there with the first movie. The boys loved it!!!

“So who’s got the best Ironman suit?”

Dad: I took my 8 and 6 year old to see the film last night……….but it did start a very vocal argument in the back of the car today, about who had the best suit – whether it be Don or Robert?

From Hag and Con, could you please end the argument – who had the best suit?

Don Cheadle: Define best?

Dad: You define it? (Laughter in the audience)

Robert Downey jr: Oh, we are in Britain – thank you. (Laughter in the audience)

Robert Downey Jr: We just wanted to get to a point where Kidz would be having that conversation, we wanted people to be having conversations about genetic enhancements.and what does this mean and is terrorism media driven without being political.

I’m just happy, I’m very happy that those arguments are occurring – its about entertainment.
