Disney Channel Elena of Avalor – Sophie, Con & Bex talk to the new Disney Princess Aimee Carrero!!!
What’s it like voicing the first Latino Princess for Disney? Did you feel nervous/excited/proud? Sophie age 9
Aimee Carrero – Actually it was a real combination of all of these things. It was very, very exciting to get the job in the first place. Then after the excitement died down a little, the nervousness set in and finally after a few minutes in the recording booth I relaxed and I realised that I was in really great hands. Now, I am just so proud to have done it.
Do you have any pretty glittery dresses and what do they look like? Bex age 5
Aimee Carrero – Oh I love it! You know I actually do. I recently got married and my dress had lots of pretty stones and lots of glitter on it. It was definitely a day where I felt like a real life princess and I had a great time.
If you could voice/appear with any actor who would it be and why? Sophie age 9
Aimee Carrero – It would have to be Emma Thompson because I am a huge fan of hers for everything from “Sense and Sensibility” to “Harry Potter”. I think she is totally fearless as an actress and it seems like she’s having a great time all the time in her movies, so she is definitely top of my list.
Do you have a favourite song from the show? Sophie age 9
Aimee Carrero – It’s funny because my favourite song from the show changes all the time depending on wheat mood I am in and what I am doing at the time when I happening to be listening to music. But right now my fav is called “The Lullaby”. You have it to look forward to in the UK because of course it hasn’t aired there yet, but make sure you check it out. It’s a really gentle song and puts me at ease, so right now I love it the most. ActualIy I also have to say that I really like “Feel Free To Have Fun”. It’s a nice little tango number and it’s got a great beat that I am sure you are going to love too!
How much do you like dancing with someone who is handsome and really nice? Bex age 5
Aimee Carrero – Well, yes, I like it a lot! Most recently I did it at my wedding and it was really fun. I danced with my husband and I danced with my dad and my brother and it was a lovely time.”
If you were trapped in an amulet for 40 years – what one thing would you take with you? Sophie age 9
Aimee Carrero – Ooh…good question, Sophie. I have two answers. One of them is totally sensible: I’d take water, because we all need water to survive. My other answer is – and this is if I had all my basic needs met – then I’d take some sort of communication device so that I could speak to my friends and my family and stay in touch with them all.
If you could be a real Princess what one rule would you make and why? Con age 9
Aimee Carrero – That is tough one. Hmm. I think I’d have to make a rule so that it was “Free ice-cream Fridays”. But it would have to be a really good ice cream, not just plain. It would have to be one that comes with all the trimmings.
