I really want this film to do well as its very well made – but I worry it may be a bit too good for younger viewers to enjoy bizarrely. A film called ‘Pete’s Dragon’ is ordinarily unlikely to attract a kid of Hag’s age with so much on offer this summer – but realistically girls and boys aged 10 to 14 will love the remake. Bex really enjoyed the movie although she did get a bit restless during some of the deeper moments in the story. As a huge fan of the original – this was the perfect remake for me. But commercially I wonder if Disney shouldn’t have just remade the original for the Chipmunks audience in the same style. It wouldnt have reviewed well with critics – but made bundles of money from young families. Really hope I’m wrong on this one as its brilliant. Cute, sensitive, exciting and the right level of scary for young families (Classic PG rated content) – A wonderful remake. Highly Recommended!!!
