In the heart of the Sea felt like such a traditional Bank holiday Epic movie when we went to see it theatrically. Based around the back story of author Herman Melville writing the classic ‘Moby Dick’ – it’s a wonderful Popcorn Epic. I wouldn’t say it’s for all Kidz – but boys and girls aged 10 and up will really enjoy the movie. Plus it’s got Thor, Spider-Man and The Scarecrow in the film – so Kidz will love seeing these actors in a different role. Exciting stuff!!!

3D Blu-Ray Review:
The use of 3D for this film is very much much in line with the pace of the movie and very high quality – giving an almost on stage feel to the land scenes. The best of the 3D is used to so show the vastness of the sea with the best of the 3D FX saved for the grand action with the Whale. This movie is best seen in 3D for the full impact!!!

Stand out 3D Moments – Opening sequence under water, The ship in the storm, Chasing the first whale, The Big whale attacking the ship, The ship on fire, Whale attacking the small boat and the finale with the big whale. In a nutshell – if the Whale’s in the scenes, its cracking 3D!!!!
