Marvel: Thor – The Dark World (2D/3D)

Marvel: Thor – Marvel: Thor – The Dark World (2D/3D) review by Hag and Con

On DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray 24/2/14 (12) Hag 5 Stars/ Con 5 Stars

Parent View:
The Avengers continue and now the quarreling brothers Thor and Loki are back. Much like the last Thor movie the latest chapter is full of action and comedy – with a little more Sci-Fi in a Star Trek style. As for the 12 rating (12A at the cinema) – I took both Hag (9 years old) and Con (6 years old) to see the film. I was very happy for them to see Thor The Dark World – it feels far more like a PG to me. There’s one scene with a hand being cut off but its less violent than the scene in the Cantina for Star Wars Episode 4 and that’s rated U. Aside from that all the ‘fantasy violence’ is the same as in Avengers Assmble. Cracking stuff!!!

3D Blu-Ray Review:
The Avengers films are always great in 3D on the small screen – and this is up there as one of the best in the collection. Full of SFX and objects appearing from the screen – its 3D action throughout.

Stand Out 3D moments – Opening sequence with the history of the Dark Elves, Objects falling through the portal, Thor taking Jane to Azgard, Heimdall (Gate keeper) attacking the Attacking Dark Elf ships, the Funeral, Thor and Loki escaping from Azgard, The betrayal of Loki, battle in Greenwich and Malek v Thor.
