Pete’s Christmas – Hag and Con talk to ‘Wimpy Kid’ Zachary Gordon

If you could be stuck in any day of your life ever – when would it be? Hag age 9

I could probably pick 100 different days I’d like to be stuck in; however, one day in particular occurs during the annual trip my family and I take to Orlando, Florida during the winter Holidays.
The most exciting day is when we go to Universal Studios. It’s very special to me because my older brothers no longer live at home as one is in college and one has graduated and is working in San Francisco. Being that I don’t get to see them very often, spending time with them at a theme park away from everything just feels like a dream; and we experience lots of brotherly bonding moments that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Did you really have to learn the guitar for the film – if yes was it hard? Hag age 9

Yes, I did have to learn guitar for the film. My brother used to play the guitar so I contacted his previous guitar teacher and he worked with me for a few days. He said that I had a natural ability and I quickly learned enough to get by for the film; however, I’m considering taking more lessons at some future time.

Were you sad when Father Christmas didn’t give you a present in the film? Con age 6

Of course, I think every kid looks forward to their Holiday gifts and can’t wait to see if their holiday wish has been granted.

Have you ever had a Christmas as bad as that one in real life? Hag age 9

I’m lucky enough to say I haven’t experienced any bad Holiday experiences in my lifetime that were as bad as Pete’s. However, in the end, Pete made the best of the situation and it turned out to be the best Christmas ever!

What would it be like if Greg met Pete? Hag and Con

Its very possible that Greg and Pete would get along as neither of them have very many friends. They both have their own struggles and maybe they could commiserate together.

When are you making the next Wimpy Kid film? Hag age 9

Unfortunately, the characters in the Wimpy Kid series are supposed to be timeless, which means they don’t age. The problem with the cast and me is that we are real people – not cartoon characters, and, as such, we can’t be stopped from growing up. It’s the sad but understandable truth of becoming a teenager, and Greg doesn’t have to grow up.

All good things must come to an end, and I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given as well as the experience of playing Greg. These wonderful movies and books will live on for years and years to come. 
