Playstation 4 Christmas Special!!! Review by Hag and Con

Available from all good retailers (PEGI 3) Hag “Top End” 5 Stars/ Con 30 Stars out of 5

Parent View:
So we’ve had the Playstation 4 for just over a year now. Although the family titles being released in the summer were a bit quiet – they’ve certainly made up for it over Autumn/Winter period.

The key highlights over the year have been games such as Knack, the LEGO franchises, FIFA, Little Big Planet 3, Skylanders, Disney Infinity, WWE2K15, Just Dance and Singstar – with the easy use of the PSVita as an alternate screen to play as a massive bonus to their gaming lifestyle.

The introduction of the PSTV has been a revelation in the home. Not only is it a cracking standalone games console for downloading games and playing PSVita discs – but being able to play PS4 games anywhere in the house with great ease is a marvellous edition to Hag & Con’s lifestyle.

As for the maturer members of the family – Music Unlimited has been a real highlight especially during the festive period where all the latest music releases come thick and fast.

Overall aside from the lack of 3D Blu-Ray playback there’s been no complaints from Kidzcoolit HQ. Sony have honoured their relationship with the traditional older gamer whilst releasing products inclusive of the family gamer whilst and inclusive of the future generation of Playstation fans. With a handful of gaming innovations in just the first 12 months – the future of this console can only be seen as exciting. Highly Recommended!!!!

Stream Movies and TV shows direct to the TV from NetFlix and LoveFilm

For a monthly subscription – Kidz can enjoy a huge range of new and Retro products. Our choice is NetFlix as it seems to have a wider choice and it very easy for the Kidz to navigate around. The only negative is that you can’t play this through the PSVita – fingers crossed there will be an update in the coming months.

Also Available – iPlayer

Music Unlimited – Stream all the latest CD’s from day of release direct through your PS4!!!

This was a huge blessing during the festive period for entertaining family and friends. For a small fee every month you can stream pretty much all the albums available past and present at the touch of a button. It also helped me to pick was CD’s to buy for the boys as well as for my own Xmas list. We’ll no longer buy anything unless it’s a success while playing through the PS4.

Video Unlimited – Stream all the latest movies from day of release direct through your PS4!!!

We won’t have much use from this due to all the film’s we’re sent for Kidzcoolit to review – but for the normal household this is the future of how to watch movies. Day of release and at the touch of a button the latest movies.

Internet access – Full access with Parent control options

Live from Playstation – Watch other gamers play live and discuss the gameplay.

This is a cracking idea for the gaming community. When researching for Kidzcoolit I spent time with the older kidz on the site and watching how they intercted with gaming video’s on Youtube. Being able to watch this live is a really nice touch and could create a few gaming reality stars over the years.
