We were pleasantly surprised at what a great Kidz movie ‘The Nutcracker in 3D’ was. No Ballet – just a Sci-fi style adventure film with words to the original music from ‘Lion King’ lyricist Tim Rice. There are some scary moments – although any Kidz into Doctor Who will be fine. I have a feeling this could become a bit of a classic over years as Kidz discover it on TV and Blu-Ray. Classic style festive movie story telling – really enjoyable.
3D Blu-Ray review:
This is a real schizophrenic disc – when the 3D’s good, its really good and when its not, its non existent. I’m not too certain – but I get the feeling some is filmed in 3D and everything else is upgraded. Either way – it doesn’t hurt the experience and this is such a good film, when the 3D kicks in – its very enjoyable. Stand out 3D moments – the moment when they travel to the top of the tree to meet the angel and the the flying rats traveling across the city.
