Wrath of the Titans (2D/3D): Hag meets the stars of the Film at the UK Premiere

Review by Hag

Out now on DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray (12) “Top end” 5 Stars

Parent View:
Fun fantasy action sequel encouraging kidz to enjoy Greek mythology. This film had a 12A rating in cinemas, meaning the BBFC deemed it suitable for anyone over the age of 12. Kidz were able to see the movie if under 12 – but only if their parents felt it suitable.

The home entertainment release is exactly the same film but now carries an over 12 years old only rating. I was ‘personally’ very happy for 7 year old Hag to watch the movie as he’s seen the first and ‘Wrath’s’ content is very very similar. There is fantasy violence and scary monsters – but if you’re Kidz are fine with Doctor Who they should be OK with ‘Wrath of the Titans’.

3D Blu-Ray Review:
I’m not too certain how I feel about this 3D Blu-ray. I love the film – I think this is an incredibly good fun adventure film and better than the first (and I like the first). With the 3D – when it good, its incredible with huge SFX 3D effects. When its just landscape and minor dialog based shots the 3D’s so subtle its not existent. I have a feeling its intentionally produced this way by the Director to make the big 3D shots stand out more – but I like my 3D less subtle and constant.

Stand out 3D moments: The shot from the surface through the underground tunnels to the underworld, the labyrinth scene and the big finale battle
