The Force Awakens is brilliant – it’s the perfect action film for a family like ours. To be honest – I’m not too certain why this isn’t a PG. Certainly in the past it would have been as there’s no bad language and although there are mildly scary moments (take a blanket for Kidz that scare easily to hide behind) – the violence is only fantasy violence. I took Hag (11), Con (8) and Bex (4) and they all loved it. Highly Recommended!!!

Special Features Review:
We don’t normally review the special Features for a DVD’s or Blu-Ray’s – but a collection of Star Wars or Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Extra Features are a special offering for fans. There’s always so much speculations from the moment these films are announced – its lovely to see the whole story of the film making process time lined. To this date my favorite DVD documentary is the making of for ‘The Phantom Menace’ as it beautifully told the story of the movie making from budget meetings all the way to the premiere in LA. For any kidz hoping for a future career in film making the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings/Hobbits Extras work as a brilliant list of roles available in film buisness and how much hard work goes into making a movie.

The Star Wars The Force Awakens Special Features are just spectacular. The original trilogy documentaries offer the story of creating Star Wars from scratch, The prequels trilogy features document bringing Star Wars back for a modern audience and The Force Awakens shows lessons learnt (Good and Bad) from forty years of making Star wars movies. Also you get the feeling the fans are now in charge of Star Wars. The Special Features give you the sense of this movie being a little like a huge budget version of those fan made ‘Youtube’ films everyone loves so much – but on a much grander scale.

When watching the documentary ‘Secrets of The Force Awakens’ you find yourself remembering moment as they leaked on twitter twitter or Facebook throughout and seeing the actual footage of the time and there’s a wealth of making of short films and deleted scenes. A personal favorite from the deleted scenes is the Snow speeder chase – its clearly a remake of the Jedi Speeder bike chase. My only criticism is the lack of a audio commentary – I’m guessing that will be an offering for a future release of the movie.

If you’re a Star Wars fan don’t just download the film as you’re basically missing out on second film about the making of Star Wars the Force Awakens. Its a cracking documentary and must own for the collection. Highly Recommended!!!
